How To Set Up Free Community Automations on High Level
Today, I am excited to walk you through an exciting journey—building automations for our website landing page. This initiative is designed to invite more people to join our free community. But before that, it's crucial to have an established community ready to welcome new members.
Building the Foundation: The Website Funnel
I've been working on developing our community funnel through the website builder. A critical component to this setup is the thank you page, which, apart from showing gratitude, plays a vital role in tracking conversions. This page helps ensure that the emails you send are recognized as important, enhancing the chances of landing directly in your audience's inbox in the future.
Creating Essential Components: Forms and Groups
Next up is creating the form. I aim to keep it simple by collecting just the necessary details—the first name and the email address. Although forms can be set to send messages, URL redirects, or order confirmations, I prefer handling such tasks at the funnel level.
Developing a group is straightforward. Even though I already have one, the process involves creating a group and managing settings to either make it public or private. From adding custom links and managing memberships to enhancing user experience with gamification and rewards, this tool is equipped with everything you need. Just make sure to share the invite link to enable access to your free community.
Managing Client Portal Emails
Ensuring the correct email setup in the client portal is essential. By default, emails are triggered once someone is granted access to the community. However, if you want a personalized approach or need to prevent duplicate emails, setting this up at the workflow level could be beneficial.
Within the automations tab, I’ve set it up so that after someone submits the free community form, they’re granted group access. The custom emails we send are crucial for guiding them directly to the client portal using a magic link. This method secures seamless access for them upon clicking.
Fine-Tuning the Funnel
Returning to the funnel, a pivotal step yet to be configured is the action for the button. While the invite link could be used directly, I prefer having users fill out a form first. This choice allows me to grant access through a thoughtfully constructed workflow and send them a magic link, ensuring they receive access in the most structured way.
When editing the popup, I craft a compelling message inviting users to join our free community. After selecting our form, we set it so submission automatically leads to the thank you page, guiding them to check their inbox and corresponding folders.
