In today's example, I'll demonstrate how to create a custom GPT designed to capture the title, link, and description from a YouTube video and populate these details into a Google spreadsheet. My ultimate goal for this setup is to enhance my custom GPT to emulate me by using these details to find and share videos. This process is foundational and adaptable – you can implement it across various use cases according to your business needs.

Adding a New Video

Let's dive into the specifics of my custom GPT's operation. I begin by selecting the conversation starter to add a new video. This triggers a request for essential details: the video title, URL, and description. Initially, I planned to include the full transcript, but due to Google Sheets' field limitations, opted for summarizing the transcript into a concise description.

To initiate, I simply grab a video title and paste it into my GPT. Holding shift and pressing enter helps organize this data without sending it immediately. Next, I copy the video link and the description. Once all details are entered, I confirm the action, effectively linking my GPT commands with Zapier. This connection integrates the data across any compatible application within Zapier's ecosystem.

Discovering the Backend Magic

Let's explore the backend functionalities to better understand the magic happening behind the scenes. My GPT is set up to demand specific details, ensuring that no data is missing before updating the Google Sheet. This includes checks for the title, URL, and summarized transcript.
