Today, I'm thrilled to guide you on how to create a custom GPT tailored specifically for your business. While you can certainly design universal GPTs to share with a niche-specific audience, having one customized for your business can make your daily tasks seamless and efficient.

Why A Custom GPT?

Firstly, you'll need a paid Chat GPT account. Once logged in, navigate to "Explore GPTs," where you'll find a variety of GPTs created by others, and explore yours or begin creating a new one.

Creating Your First GPT

I'm diving right in by initiating a new GPT. If you're familiar with this, you can dive into the details yourself. For those newer, there's guidance every step of the way. Let's say our goal is to create a GPT that generates a daily Instagram post for our business. This involves answering specific questions to tailor the GPT to your needs — questions about your business, desired tone and style, and types of posts.

For example, I specified that my business specializes in AI ads and integrations. I decided on an engaging, witty, and professional tone for posts. Whether you want captions, hashtags, image ideas included, or opt for AI tips as post types, this process helps hone in on what's best for your needs.

Next up: names for your GPT. If you're not enamored with the initial suggestions, simply ask for more options until you hit the one that resonates. Once set, you can create or upload a profile picture to represent your GPT visually.

Refining and Testing Your GPT's Behavior

The final refinements involve choosing your focus areas like AI tips, trends, or case studies. Whatever direction you choose, make sure it aligns with your business goals. Allow your AI, now named "AI Ad Innovator," to generate specific Instagram posts with full posts, captions, hashtags, and image suggestions tailored to your audience.

Harnessing the Power of Your Business Data

An intriguing feature is uploading files to the knowledge base. Here, I recommend Word documents with clear titles acting as guides for the AI. An example of this is a document titled "Contact Information," crucial for prompts needing those details.

Equally advantageous is using your AI coach to generate PDFs reflecting your business's essence — from brand colors, customer avatars, positioning, to value propositions. This level of detail ensures your AI outputs remain aligned with your brand's vision.

Taking It a Step Further with Advanced Actions

There's potential for advanced actions. You're allowed to retrieve information or engage in actions outside the GPT framework. With everything set, updating and expanding your GPT becomes your next step. Make it an invite-only tool or generate public links based on your preferences.
